While painting in Gadsden, Alabama, we were invited to an old mansion in town. It used to be an old hotel, so the grounds had what was left of patios and foundations for cottages. This was one of those areas. It was tucked away and almost hidden. There were a couple of chairs and some potted ferns. The light was filtering through and hitting this fern and pot. It felt like a secret garden.
