I’ve painted lots of palo verde trees (green stick in Spanish), which is the state tree in Arizona. I find them fascinating to paint. They are kind of wild and free form. They are painted from my imagination starting with a dark pattern for the shape. This tree is backlit so it is mostly in shade. With the sunset the tree needed to be in warm colors with cooler colors away from the light source. I had a great, exciting time painting this one with all the beautiful color. The painting is priced without a frame.
