I painted this while on a painting trip to Zion with my friend Deb Groesser. We had a great time painting from dawn to dusk for three days. I came home with several paintings. This was in the late afternoon with a lot of shadow. The color of the water and the shape of it is what inspired me to paint this scene. Besides, it was a hot day and this was such a cool, refreshing sight after painting all day.
