This is a plein air painting from Oregon along the Columbia River looking across. It was around noon and the light was flat. I was sitting at a picnic table wondering what to paint next. I looked around me and saw the brush that was beginning to change colors at the end of summer. The yellows of the leaves contrasted with the gray blues of the water and distant hills across the river.
